Fishing in the Greek seas can give you much passion, fun, unforgettable impressions and opportunity to admire the most beautiful sea in the world.

The majority of local residents and, certainly, tourists spend their leisure at sea coast or at the sea. One of the most popular activity among them is fishing. Coastal inhabitants have been busy with sea fishing trade since time immemorial. And now ancient fishing small villages are hidden in the small bays bordered by rocks. There is a huge quantity of a various fish in the Mediterranean such as: squids, shrimps, sepias, octopuses, crawfish, mollusks, devilfish etc.

It is possible to fish in different ways: from the coast, from the boat and in the sea. The best time for fishing from the coast is, definitely, night.

Fishing from a boat gives you more opportunities to catch a valuable trophy. The majority of the boats specially intended for catching huge size fish, is equipped by the various equipment which makes it easier to get a fish for a fish man. You can go for fishing by a boat or yacht for one day or more. The most important thing is get a pleasure from this interesting activity.
Way of sea fishing from a boat
The most widespread way is trolling. It is recommended to use with an echo sounder and GPS receiver.

Trolling

Fishing from a moving boat allows fish man to capture extensive sea space, so that a killer looks natural. Speed of movement of a boat and weight of a sinker can be picked up so that a killer moves on the necessary depth. Usually such method you can catch marline-spike, tuna and others.

Spinning

Spinning is a popular and successful method for catching predatory fish, including pike, perch, zander, chub, trout, sea-trout, salmon and eels. Spinning tackle should include a selection of appropriate lures, a trace that is suitable for the species of fish to be caught, ant-kink vanes or weights, swivels, a rod that is about 7-8 feet long and not too whippy, a geared reel that allows easy casting and a medium to fast retrieve, a line of medium to high breaking strain and a good landing net or, in the case of pike and salmon, a gaff.

Drift fishing

When you go for drift fishing you`d better use a boom rig for deep water. The weight can be slung a few meters below the boom on lighter line than the main line. If the sinker hooks up on the bottom it is easier to free. Some booms come with a longer tube section that helps stopping the hook and trace from tangling around the main line as the bait descends. Rig the whole fish bait by placing the hook deep through the body just in front of the head with the hook point pointing toward the tail. Take a couple of turns around the body with the trace, and then a half hitch around the tail.

Skin-diving fishing

Skin-diving fishing is a very interesting way of fishing. When the boat costs on an anchor in fine enough place it is the best time to go for fishing. During ground fishing killer lower on a sea-bottom and keep there by means of a suitable sinker. With such method you can catch the large fish (slope, halibut and so on).
